The Mission
Started in 2017, by founder Sailasya Munamarty, a current third year at the University of California Los Angeles, the goal of this nonprofit is to reduce the barriers for victims of human trafficking and abuse to be reintegrated into society through:
Survior Support and Resource Navigation
Academic and Vocational Empowerment
Healthcare Training and Systems Advocacy
Community Engagement and Awareness
Survivor Support & Resource Navigation
We work directly with survivors to connect them with shelters, mental health professionals, and long-term recovery services. By maintaining strong relationships with local transitional housing providers and advocacy centers, we ensure that survivors receive the full continuum of care needed for healing and reintegration.
Academic & Vocational Empowerment
We provide access to GED programs, college enrollment, job certification pathways, and employer partnerships. Our goal is to help survivors regain agency over their futures through sustainable employment and educational growth.
Healthcare Training & Systems Advocacy
Recognizing that healthcare professionals are often in a unique position to identify trafficking, Unbound Futures partners with hospitals, clinics, and universities to improve training protocols. In collaboration with Keiser University’s nursing program, we conducted workshops that taught future nurses how to identify victims of trafficking using trauma-sensitive, victim-centered methods. These trainings included real-world scenarios, indicators of trafficking in clinical settings, and best practices in intervention and referral.
Community Engagement & Awareness
We also work with schools, local government offices, and community groups to raise awareness about human trafficking, dispel myths, and build informed, compassionate networks of support.
